The area has been crying for a facelift. Due to problems relating to drainage considerations and building frontange and fly tipping among others, the area was more akin to a bombed site than a residential area. Finally, the local council has apporved plans to refurbish the area behind the St. Anthony Church near Sqaq l-Ibghal, and turn it into a parking area with pedestrian paths, shrubs and benches. The project will also involve the Department of Roads. We hope to initiate the project in the coming months after approval of the plans by the relevant authorities. Fingers crossed!!
